I wait for it all year... the time of summer when watermelons are at their peak. Right now they are sweet and delicious and inexpensive, so I wanted to take advantage and use watermelon as a theme for a small baby shower I threw over the weekend. I decided to have a watermelon bar!

To decorate my watermelon bar space, I created a set of coordinating party printables, including a banner, signs, and lots of watermelon images.

You can download our free Watermelon Bar party printables, edit them in Microsoft Office/Word, and print whichever items you need for your watermelon feast.

I started with a banner made of watermelon slices, and near it I hung a big Watermelon Bar sign that I mounted on a piece of coordinating cardstock.

Then I went digging in Pinterest to find some unique and interesting watermelon recipes, and I really hit the jackpot. For the drink, I made an easy Watermelon Limeade (watermelon, lime juice, and sugar, pureed in a blender) and served it in sugar-rimmed glasses. I cut slits into some of the printable watermelon images and added them to the straws for a decorative touch, and made a custom tent card to go with it.

The craziest recipe I used was Watermelon Salsa, which I served with tortilla chips. Made of watermelon, red onion, cilantro, mint, jalapeno, and lime juice, this was a wonderfully sweet and spicy snack that everyone loved.

Another trendy watermelon recipe I served was Watermelon Pizza. It's not as crazy as you think, and there's no dough involved — you just cut a slice of watermelon into wedges, add toppings, and serve. Mine had feta cheese, balsamic glaze, basil, and olive oil. I used the customizable menu card from the watermelon printable set to let guests know the ingredients, and I displayed it in a Ikea Tolsby frame.

Last but not least, I wanted to serve plain watermelon for guests who weren't as adventurous. But I still managed to snazz it up by cutting the watermelon into rectangles and putting a popsicle stick in each one. So cute and even easier to eat!
