Thanksgiving Crackers Poppers with Snaps
Want to start a fun new Thanksgiving tradition that also serves as a perfect favor on the Thanksgiving dinner table? How about making some Thanksgiving crackers!
Just like their cousins the traditional English Christmas crackers, these Thanksgiving crackers have that same snap inside and are filled with plenty of goodies like toys and candy.
Easy fillable Thanksgiving crackers
The key to making your own crackers for Thanksgiving (or any occasion) is the easy DIY cracker kits we found on Amazon. They include the tubes with cracker snaps and the classic tissue paper crowns.
Check out our full tutorial for how to make easy Christmas crackers with this kit, then keep reading below for our free printable design to transform these basic crackers into Barbie party favors.
Free pilgrim buckle printable cracker wrap
To turn the base cracker template into a Thanksgiving favor, just download our Thanksgiving cracker wrapper with pilgrim buckle and print it onto regular copy paper.
Then just cut the borders off and cut the design into three pieces, along the marked lines.
To add the wrappers to the template, just attach the paper pieces using double-sided tape. Don't forget to re-cut the slots in the paper, as described in the tutorial, so you can insert the tabs.
After you roll up the template into a tube, tie up one end of the cracker with ribbon to close it.
Then stuff the middle section of your cracker with whatever goodies you like, such as traditional tissue paper crowns, toys, candy, or phrases of thankfulness and gratitude. Tie up the other end and your crackers are ready for each place setting at the Thanksgiving table.
To open the crackers, everyone will grab the two ends and pull. The cracker snap included inside these DIY cracker templates will make a "pop" noise as the cracker splits into two pieces, and all the treats will fall out for a fun surprise.
