Thanksgiving Care Package Stickers
If your family is separated by distance, college, military service, or illness, it's still great to celebrate Thanksgiving together, even if only virtually. Many people like to send a care package to their loved ones for Thanksgiving so they can share in the family feelings of togetherness. Filling the box is easy, but decorating a Thanksgiving care package might be tricky for some.
So we designed some printable care package labels with a Thanksgiving theme that are perfect for decorating the flaps of a standard USPS shipping box. These printable labels make it so easy to make the box extra special when you open it.
VIDEO: How to Decorate a Thanksgiving Care Package
Creating a Thanksgiving Care Package
We started with a standard USPS Large Flat Rate Box (12" x 12" x 5.5", available for free at the post office) which provides lots of room inside and offers a flat US shipping price, no matter the weight or distance.
Our Thanksgiving care package labels, available on Etsy, are perfect for decorating the flaps. They feature non-traditional Thanksgiving colors with soft pastel pumpkins and a welcoming blue gingham. Just print the designs onto four sheets of white sticker paper and you're ready to go.
Before applying the stickers, you can write a message on the one with the big white ribbon across it. This is a great way to share details about when dinner (and your Zoom call) starts.
Then just apply the stickers to the flaps of the box.
Before you know it, you've transformed this boring box into something special.
Now for the fun part, which is stuffing the box with goodies! We chose to put a complete placesetting in each box, so that guests could set their table and match everyone else's.
For each guest to dine on, we included a placemat, decorative paper plate and napkin, and disposable bamboo cutlery. For table decorations, we added an adorable stuffed turkey toy and a battery-operated votive candle. A small acrylic plate stand was perfect for holding up the guest's phone or table for hands-free video calling.
And you didn't think we'd try to celebrate Thanksgiving without a classic can of cranberry sauce, did you? It simply had to be included in the box!
We think these placesetting care packages are so thoughtful and a great way to feel connected with loved ones far away on Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving. If you want to add something more to the boxes, here are a couple other fun ideas:
- Gather all the shelf-stable ingredients needed to bake your favorite side dish (such as green bean casserole or pumpkin pie) along with a pretty pan and the recipe.
- Send frozen, prepared food (add plenty of ice packs!) or baked goods and treats for someone who doesn't like to cook.
- Pull together a bunch of your recipient's favorite things to create a care package that shows just how truly thankful you are for them being in your life.
