Recycle Bridal Bouquets into a Floral Wreath
My daughters were both in a wedding recently and the carried bouquets of faux flowers made out of foam and paper. The flowers were so pretty, I thought it would be great to reuse them for something else after the wedding.
I decided that repurposing the faux flower bouquet into a wreath was a perfect idea! For the base, I purchased a wooden ball wreath forms from Hobby Lobby, and I also picked up some extra faux greenery.
The wire originally for the flowers was extremely rigid, since the flowers needed to stay upright, but that made it hard for me to work with. So, I removed the stiff wires and replaced them with some thinner floral wire that could be easily wrapped around the form. A dot of hot glue is all it took to hold the new wires in place.
Then I just started adding the flowers to the wreath by wrapping the wires between the balls on the frame.
I spaced out the different colors and styles of flowers, and created a nice collection of them, covering only about 1/4 of the beaded frame.
When the flowers were all done, I filled the design out by tucking in bits of the greenery, securing them with hot glue.
Some simple twine was all I needed to hang the wreath on my door.
Rather than having a bouquet without a lot of uses, this wreath lets me remember the wonderful wedding whenever I walk in the door. This would make a great post-wedding gift for any bride who uses artificial flowers for her wedding!
