Polaroid Guest Book Album
McGeeky just celebrated his 40th birthday, and I went all out with an elaborate 80s themed birthday party. He is a quintessential 80s kid, so it was an easy party theme choice. To help document the party — and all those photos we took of everyone in their 80s outfits — I decided to make him a guest book that showcases an 80s icon, the classic Polaroid camera.
I chose a scrapbook that had black pages so I could have the guests sign with neon gel pens, which is very 80s. I found a spiral-bound black Canson album that was perfect on the inside and had a nice blank cover that was perfect for me to embellish.
I found a line drawing of a Polaroid camera online, printed it, and transferred it to the album cover using white transfer paper.
To make the design really stand out, I went over the lines again with a dimensional paint writer with an ultra-fine tip. A white paint marker would also work well for this if you don't care about dimension.
I thought about filling the image in with color, but decided I liked it best just as an outline.
I wanted the book to have pictures to go along with the messages the guests wrote, so I purchased a fun Instax camera that creates instant photos reminiscent of the classic Polaroid shots.
This Polaroid guest book is such a fun way to record how all the party guests looked all dressed up in their 80s outfits.

Absolutely love it, but any ideas where I can purchase this Canson album online? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Awesome job!
Mike, it's been a while since I bought the album so that exact one might not be available. Check for other plain, black albums on Amazon though. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
Hi , did you juse use a glue stick to put the pictures on the book?
Carrie, I think we used double-sided tape, but anything you have that'll stick should work fine.
