New Year's Resolution Cube
Christmas is just a few days away, but soon after that, we'll be faced with a brand new year as well. I can hardly believe it's going to be 2010 already! For many people, New Year's Day comes along with a set of resolutions that may or not be followed throughout the year. A big reason why a lot of resolutions fail is that we forget what they are. So if you're looking for a way to remind yourself daily about the resolutions you've made, I have an idea you might like.
I'm going to show you how to make a resolution cube that can sit on your desk or kitchen counter. Each side will have a reminder about one of your resolutions! I'm sure you've seen our popular folding photo cube project, right? The thing is, nobody said those cubes always had to be made with photos! Instead, I grabbed a bunch of my favorite scrapbook papers, in coordinating colors, and cut them to size.
Then I followed the detailed instructions on our folding photo cube tutorial to create the cube. If you have trouble finding the double-sided tape needed for this project, remember that we sell double-sided tape sheets in our Amazon store, as well as the 1.5" wooden blocks you'll need.
When the cube was assembled, I grabbed some markers and started writing and drawing on it. I put "2010 Resolutions" on one side, and then wrote one resolution on each of the other sides. You can also use rubber stamps or thin stickers to decorate, but be careful not to add too many thick embellishments, or else the cube won't open and fold properly.
Here's my finished cube. How can you resist keeping up with resolutions with such a happy reminder like this?

Thanks, Crafty Rose! Happy New Year to you too!
This is a fantastic idea! Not sure how I feel about having tangible evidence of my resolutions, but it's cute enough I might have to risk it. I'm including this in my Friday Favorites this week!
Staci, thanks for the link!
