Make Giant Hershey's Kisses from Foil
When I decorated my hall cabinet with oversized Valentine's Day candy decor, it included plenty of giant Hershey's Kisses. Making your own oversized Hershey's Kisses is pretty easy, and I'll show you how to do it with a few basic materials and printable flags.

How to make a giant Hershey Kiss
If you prefer step-by-step instructions, keep reading to see exactly how I made these giant Hershey Kisses from ordinary household supplies.
Step 1: Start with a paper center
Kisses are obviously covered in foil, but it can get expensive to make the entire piece from foil. Instead, I started with inexpensive packing paper, and started balling it up into the shape I wanted.
I squeezed it into a cone shape, using packing tape to hold it all together.
Step 2: Wrap the center in foil to fill out the shape
Then I started wrapping it with foil. I applied three layers, so that there would be enough firmness to press and squish the cone into the exact shape I wanted, and three layers is about what it took for the foil to have real staying power.
As I worked, I pressed the shape down on the table to get a nice flat bottom, and squeezed the point at the top to get the classic shape. Don't worry too much about getting a smooth surface at this point, just get your overall shape right.
It's a good idea to have some real Hershey's Kisses on hand to compare to as you work.
Step 3: Add the paper flag
When I had the shape right, it was time to add the classic little flag. I designed some oversized Hershey's Kisses flags and printed them onto regular paper, then used my paper trimmer to cut them into strips.

I placed one of the paper strips onto the point of my giant kiss and added a little piece of tape to help hold it in place.
Step 4: Add the final layers of foil
Next was the final layer of foil, which wrapped around the tail of the flag to hold it in place. This last layer is the one I was the most careful with, making it as smooth as possible and tucking the ends carefully underneath for a good finish.
The finished Kisses
Just look how adorable this giant Hershey's Kiss is! And it only took a few minutes to create.
The only thing that would make these more awesome is if they actually had a giant chocolate kiss inside, but that would be quite a feat to accomplish. I suppose I could have wrapped up a bag full of regular Kisses inside... maybe I'll try that next year.
Ideas for using giant Hershey's Kisses
These giant Hershey's Kisses make great Valentine's Day decorations for home or a classroom. I used them in my hall cabinet that I filled with oversized classic Valentine's Day candy, and they're inexpensive and lightweight enough to use throughout your Valentine's Day decor.
You could also use this idea as a way to cleverly wrap a small gift for a special someone. Imagine receiving this and opening it to find an engagement ring inside for a unique proposal!
