Leprechaun Game for St. Patrick's Day
Last St. Patrick's Day, I wanted a fun game for the kids. I thought it would be fun to have a Leprechaun visit the house. I came up with a fun and easy Leprechaun hide-and-seek game that the kids absolutely loved. Little Jo is already asking if the Leprechaun is coming back every year!
First, you will need one large plastic cauldron (preferably green), six small black cauldrons, and lots of candy with gold wrappers (like Reese's or Hershey's Nuggets). I just love the look of all the gold candy wrappers! What a perfect pot of "gold" this will be at the end of the rainbow.
Next you'll need lots of small, toys in the colors of the rainbow, and some coordinating ribbon in the same colors.
Put some red toys and red tissue paper into one of the small cauldrons, and add a long red ribbon to one side of the handle. Tie an orange ribbon to the other side, since orange is the next color in the rainbow.
At the end of the orange ribbon, put another cauldron, this time filled with orange toys and tissue paper. On the other side, tie a yellow ribbon.
At the end of the yellow ribbon — you guessed it — put a cauldron filled with yellow toys and tissue. Add a green ribbon to the other side.
Keep going through the colors of the rainbow. When you get to the end, use a rainbow ribbon to tie the purple cauldron to the giant pot of gold that's filled with candy.
To set up the game, place the first cauldron somewhere in your house, hidden from view, but with the ribbon poking out. The kids will see the ribbon and follow it until they find the red cauldron at the end, full of prizes.
Then hide all the remaining cauldrons, tucking them behind furniture or books, leaving a ribbon trail your kids can follow. At the very end, they'll get to the thrilling pot of gold!

love this!!!!!!! Such a sweet and fun way to celebrate...
love the idea and will use it just not for St. Patrick’s Day because here in Germany we don`t do the green day.
Perhaps it's because I love candy so much :>) but I love this idea! I linked on my weekly roundup, post is under my name. Thanks for sharing!
Lenetta, thanks for the link!
Oh how fun! Thanks for the great idea, I'll be linking.
So cute! what a fun idea. Is the green cauldron from amazon.com -- the link is not working. I'd love to get one for next week!
Hi Kathy. Looks like the green cauldron Jo originally linked to is no longer available on Amazon. I've found a black one and changed the link to point to that. You might also try your local party stores, where you can probably find some plastic kettles in with the St. Patrick's Day decorations. Good luck and let us know what you find!
im a kid but it sounds fun to me!
This is wonderful! I am going to share this with my family. Great idea! Your brilliant! =^..^=
