Lemon Themed Party Favors with Lemon Curd
I had a small lemon-themed garden party recently and really embraced the cheerful color and flavor of lemons in the entire tablescape. I wanted to make my guests feel really special, so I made some cute little jars of homemade lemon curd to give out as party favors. What a fun and delicious addition this made to the table!
I started with some of our handy 4 ounce plastic jars, which are the perfect size for party favors, and so easy to decorate.
I started by decorating the edge of the lid with a bit of yellow ribbon, which is easy to attach with hot glue, double-sided tape, or glue dots.
Then I tied on some tiny lemon charms with a little string. They not only look adorable, but they give the recipient a clue as to what is inside.
I wanted to add one more decorative touch to the lid, and took inspiration from some cloth napkins I had that featured lemon trees. I took a picture of the napkin so I could have a digital version of the image. (Here's a high-res version of this lemon tree design if you want to print it for decorating your own jars)
I traced the bottom of the jar onto the printed image to get the right size, then cut it out. I stuck the circle onto the middle of the lid with some double-sided tape and the jars were done.
The last step, of course, was to fill the jars with my homemade lemon curd. If you don't have time to make curd, there are plenty of packaged lemon curd options that are delicious and huge time-savers.
My guests were thrilled with the added touch to the table, and excited to take their treats home.
Don't they look so fresh and summery sitting in the middle of the plates?
