Kentucky Derby Cupcakes
Jo and I are big fans of the Kentucky Derby, and love to have parties to watch the big race. Parties need food, and sweets are my favorite kind of party food, so of course we needed to make some new Cupcake Collars designs for the occasion!
Our Cupcake Collars are really easy to use. You just print them onto white cardstock, cut them out, and slip them onto frosted cupcakes. A simple swirl of frosting is all it takes to turn our Rose design into a cupcake ready for the famous "Run for the Roses".
Along with the rose design, our Kentucky Derby Cupcake Collars collection also includes a horseshoe design for the horses. And what better way to celebrate the riders themselves than with jockey silks?
As you may know, in any horse race, the design of each jockey's silks is very different, and signifies which jockey is which, in glorious color. In order to cover all the possible designs, our Cupcake Collar is actually blank white. After printing, you can color them with markers or crayons to match the jockeys that are running the race, or your favorite jockey. This is a fantastic activity for the kids before the race. They love designing their own silks. And admittedly, so do I!
We hope you enjoy these, and remember to visit our Cupcake Collars shop on Etsy for our Kentucky Derby cupcake designs, as well as many others.
