Easter Clothespin Wreath
Ever since coming up with the idea in 2009, I have created lots of clothespin wreaths for holidays such as Thanksgiving and I think it's a fun and easy way to decorate for any holiday. This year I decided to make a Easter-themed clothespin wreath, and tried a new material for decorating the clothespins — fabric!
After choosing a fun, bunny-filled Easter fabric, I prepared it by coating it with Fabric Mod Podge, then let it dry fully.
While the fabric was drying, I painted all of my clothespins with yellow acrylic paint. Little Jo was really nice and helped me paint then (about 50 in all).
The next step involved a little measuring and cutting. I needed tiny pieces of fabric that would only cover the top, flat surface of the clothespins. I cut the fabric pieces just a smidge big to make sure they would cover the whole clothespin. That coat of Fabric Mod Podge made this SO much easier to do without worrying about the fabric fraying on the edges.
I used a little more Mod Podge as glue to attach the fabric pieces to the clothespins.
Once everything was dry, I just clipped my clothes pins to a 12" wire wreath frame. I attached a big bow at the top, which I made using Chica's bow tying tutorial. What a perfectly festive Easter decoration for my front door!
