Christmas Tree Toss Party Game for Kids
I was trying to come up with a fun kids' game for the kids at my upcoming Christmas party, and found inspiration in the Halloween party game idea we had a few years ago. I knew I could easily adapt that tossing game for Christmas by making a tree-shaped game board, adding ornament-shaped targets, and using jingle bells for the playing pieces!
I started out by cutting a giant triangle out of a piece of foam core, then wrapping it with silver foil giftwrap.
You could stop with just the wrapping paper but why would you? I wanted the tree to be extra sparkly and shiny, so I went looking for some silver fringe. I hit the jackpot with a Happy Birthday banner I found at Target.
All I had to do was cut the letters off, and I had the perfect silver fringe.
I used hot glue to adhere a strip of fringe to the bottom (widest part) of the tree.
Then I overlapped another row a couple inches above that one, and glued it in place. I kept going until the whole tree was covered.
This tossing game needed targets, which I made out of some round papier mache boxes I found at Hobby Lobby. I tossed the lids aside, and painted the larger part of the boxes with some paint in bright holiday colors.
When the paint was dry, I hot glued the boxes to the tree, and they made perfect ornament-shaped targets!
I got some shiny silver jingle bells for the kids to toss into the targets, which is how they will play the game.
I know this will be a huge hit at the party, for kids of many ages. I have to admit, I had quite a bit of fun playing it myself after I was done creating it!
