Christmas Cookie Swap or Gift Boxes
During the holiday season, we normally get together with a group of friends and swap cookies, share laughs, and drink a few too many Christmas cocktails, but social distancing this year meant we had to come up with a different plan. We still wanted to share some homemade treats with our friends and family, so we came up with a gift box idea for a contact-free cookie swap.
We knew our adorable little 5" mini pizza boxes would be perfect for packaging our Christmas cookies, but we wanted to make them look extra special, so we came up with a cute, vintage-inspired label. We are happy to share our personalizable cookie box label with you. Just open it in Word/Office, add your message, and you're ready to print!
First, though, you need cookies! We made some sugar cookies in a size that fits inside the box. We love Wilton's easy-grip cookie cutters and really like this snowflake cookie cutter because it isn't so delicate that it falls apart.
Once our cookies were baked and decorated, we got to work on the boxes. We customized the labels with our message and printed a bunch onto Avery 8.5" x 11" full-sheet sticker paper. If you don't have sticker sheets on hand, you can print on regular paper and use double-sided tape, but you get a better finished project if you use the sticker sheets.
These labels are easy to cut out and perfectly sized to fit our 5" mini pizza boxes.
We added some shredded filler to the each box to make a cushy spot for our cookies and to help prevent breakage.
Look how cute the cookie looks nestled inside!
After closing the box, we added the label to the lid and they were ready to go. These make the perfect Holiday gifts to hand out to friends, family members, co-workers, and service personnel.
