My sister-in-law wanted unique centerpieces for her wedding, rather than traditional floral arrangements. She loves champagne and drama, so I came up with the perfect lighted champagne centerpieces that not only looked beautiful, but were functional as well.

The starting point for the lighted feature of these centerpieces was some little red submersible LED lights that were battery operated.

I put one of the LED lights in the bottom of a clear plastic ice bucket in the middle of the table, and scattered some acrylic faux ice around it for extra sparkle.

Then I surrounded the bucket with 8 plastic champagne flutes, one for each guest at the table.

Then, right before the reception started, I had the servers add a bottle of champagne and fill the buckets with ice and red rose petals. More petals were scattered on the table, and the whole look was just fantastic.

When the party got started and the sun went down, the LEDs started to glow. Just look how gorgeous this fire-and-ice centerpiece looks at night, when the lights were dimmed for dancing.

If you use this idea, be sure to test one of your LED lights before the big event so you can see how long it will last before the battery dies. You will want to turn them on before the ice is added, and you want them to last throughout the night, so testing the timing is a great idea. Mine lasted well over 4 hours during my test, and they outlasted the dancing at the actual reception.

The bride was so happy with these champagne centerpieces because they were beautiful, functional, unique, AND saved her a lot of money versus fresh flowers. I love this idea so much that plan on using again at our next Christmas party, too.

Jan, amazingly, there is just one light in each one. They are really bright!

Love these! and planning on doing them for my NYE wedding. Few questions, how big and what is the material used for the black fabric? ALso how big are the buckets? I ordered some off ebay and they are 6 inches, kinda of small, but will work with little ice.

    Thank you!!!

Nicole, we're glad you like this idea! The black fabric on the table is a napkin. I'm afraid we don't have the buckets anymore and can't remember how big they were, but judging by the photo, and considering how big a champagne bottle is, I'd say the buckets are somewhere around 8-10" tall. Hope that helps!

This is so pretty. I want to do this for my nieces wedding. I followed your link and couldn't find glasses as pretty as those. Do you recall where you go them? Thanks

I think they came from Party City but it has been years now so not sure they still carry them.
