Carnival Cupcakes with Ride Ticket Cupcake Wrappers
When Jo threw a carnival-themed birthday party for her daughter's birthday, I was tasked with creating the dessert. We decided to go with cupcakes rather than a cake, but of course I wanted to make them extra special.
I started off by designing a cupcake wrapper that looked just like a spiral of classic paper tickets used for carnival ride admittance (or sometimes as raffle tickets). You can buy our Raffle Ticket Cupcake Wrappers printable on Etsy, and print as many as you need, then cut them out.
Then just wrap them into a loop and secure with tape. Make sure you test a cupcake in one before you tape them all up, to be sure you're taping them to the size that fits your cupcakes.
Then just drop your confetti-sprinkled cupcakes in, and you're ready to go.
But I didn't stop there! To make these the ultimate carnival cupcakes, I topped each one with a mini funnel cake. I just used a standard funnel cake recipe to whip up some mini funnel cakes (about 4" across), and drizzled them with white chocolate. Then I put them on sticks and stuck the sticks in the top of the cupcakes. The result was insanely cute!
The kids loved these unique carnival cupcakes topped with funnel cakes, and the adults did too. And it wasn't long before someone realized just how great funnel cake tastes when dipped right into the cupcake frosting.

Hi! Love this idea! How far in advance did you make the funnel cake? Would I be able to make them the night before the party without them getting soft? Thank you for any tips
Samantha, we made ours the morning of the party and they held up okay. I think the night before would be too early, but if they do soften, you could try crisping them up in the oven for a few minutes.
I love the idea with the voting booths. I went to order two and I noticed the cheapest shipping was $76. Was this around the same amount that you paid for shipping ?
April, I'm sorry but I don't recall what I paid for shipping.
