Beach Themed Wedding Favors
I needed an inexpensive wedding favor idea for a friend who was having a destination beach wedding in Florida, on Sanibel Island. I knew I could use our nail polish marbling technique to quickly transform some simple white beach pails into something special for the big day.
To turn the plain white sand buckets into something special, I hydrodipped them with nail polish to create a marbled design.
Typical nail polish marbling is easy — you just drizzle polish on water and dip your item, which leads to wispy, dreamy clouds of color. I wanted sharp, crisp lines, though, so I first treated the water using our exclusive trick (learn how in our book!) that keeps the polish from spreading out too much. Then, I added the teal blue polish and swirled it into a tight design with a skewer. A quick dip of the pail into the a tub of water captured all those glorious swirls!
After decorating, the beach pails are ready to be filled with any treats you want to have as your wedding favor. To keep with my friend's beach themed, I filled them all with saltwater taffy. I finished the buckets off with a shell in the top that said thanks.
These adorable marbled mini buckets would also work great as name cards for guests at the place setting for a beach-themed dinner party or shower.
