Equestrian Themed Christmas Decor
This pandemic has us trying to extend the amount of time we spend outside, and with Christmas approaching, I really wanted our outdoor space to be festive. I don't usually decorate our back patio for the holidays, but this year it seemed like a great idea since it is covered and still usable for quite awhile longer.
Since I live on a horse farm in Kentucky, I felt it appropriate to go with an equestrian theme for this outdoor space. Now you can see where I put the "Jingle Bells" art and horse head wreath I made! I think the pieces look great layered together over the fireplace mantle.
Let's get to that mantle! I added oversized, rustic jingle bells and a horseshoe to a pre-lit garland from Home Depot. I love that the garland already had the plaid ribbons on it.
To play off that plaid, I also ordered this plaid rug by Nourison, also a Home Depot find.
On either side of the fireplace, I made some boxes from old barn wood to act as tree collars for my pre-lit, skinny trees. Some more plaid ribbon tied them together and kept the decoration sweet and simple.
Now with my festive outdoor patio area, I can have a couple of people over to sit outside and visit over a cup of coffee.

Beautiful! You need to turn the horseshoe the other way like a U bc you have it so your luck runs out. That's what I've always heard.
Absolutely love this! Makes me want to get out and clean our porch and decorate it. Merry Christmas!
