Flea Market Find Table Transformation
I hope you had a chance to look at Chica's spa-like bathroom makeover, which turned out great. One of the elements I created for that bathroom was a cute little table for the corner, with an inset design made with a craft supply you would never have guessed at.
It started as an ordinary, round, wood table that I found at a flea market. The minute I saw those round carved grooves on the top, I was hooked!
After painting the table white, I wanted to add something inside the grooves, to create an inset design. It couldn't be very thick or it would not be flush with the table top. I found just the thing at Hobby Lobby, some tiny beads normally used for jewelry making. I chose sea glass colors to match the color scheme in Chica's bathroom.
Once I filled in the circles perfectly with beads, I used Outdoor Decou-Page as a combination grout and sealer.
It turned out perfectly! I can't believe how much these tiny beads look like custom inlaid tile work.
This table acts as a perfect spot next to the bathtub to hold your washcloth, or perhaps even your wine glass.
