Oil and Vinegar Place Settings and Wedding Favors
When I hosted my rustic Italian dinner last Christmas, I wanted to create appropriate place settings for my guests. The obvious choice to go with the Italian theme was to use tiny oil and vinegar bottles, and personalize them. I really wish I'd had this idea back when I got married, because they would have made the perfect wedding favors for my Italian-themed vineyard wedding reception!
Jo found the perfect mini oil and vinegar bottles at World Market. They were the perfect favor size and came in convenient bundles!
To decorate the bottles, I wanted to wrap them with multiple bands of paper. I chose a cream, tan, and green, and cut them in strips. The thinnest strip was cream, and I cut it to 3/4" wide. Then I cut the tan strip 1" wide and the green strip 1-1/4" wide.
I used double-sided tape runner to quickly stick the bands together. First, I applied some to the cream paper.
Then I placed that strip onto the tan paper, centering it so it had a nice border on the top and bottom.
Similarly, I applied adhesive to the back of the tan, then placed it on the green. So pretty!
To personalize the wrappers, I used a calligraphy marker to write the guests' names in the center of the band.
Before adding the wrappers to the bottles, I paired them up, taking time to arrange them label-to-label, so the labels didn't show. Hiding the labels was way easier than removing them would have been!
To add the wrapper, I just centered the name on the bottles, and wrapped the paper around to the back.
I used some of our super strong double-sided tape sheets to stick the wrapper to itself on the back, and trimmed off the excess paper.
Aren't these min oil and vinegar favors just the cutest?
They are the perfect place setting for an Italian dinner, served with individual loaves of bread.
