Candyland Party Pennants
A friend of ours is planning a Candyland party theme for her child's upcoming birthday party and asked me for some help with decoration. A quick and easy idea we came up was a banner made with pennants resembling the Candyland player pieces, strung together with bits of rainbow path. What a cute addition this would be to the cake table and party space!
It starts with a printable Candyland Pennant Template we made and that we're sharing with you as a free download.
I wanted to make this printable easy to use without having to use up lots of printer ink, so the page with the player piece on it is just a blank outline. That way you can print it onto colored paper (either construction paper or scrapbook paper) and save some ink. The rainbow path pieces will need to be printed on a color printer.
Print as many as you need, depending on how long you want your banner. Once you have all the pieces printed, cut them out.
To attach the pieces, you can use tape or glue, but I think eyelets work best and look the cutest. Use an eyelet setter tool to attach the path strips to the hands.
Be careful not to set the eyelets too tight so that the pieces can be moved on each joint. This will help you later when you hang the string of pennants. Just give the eyelet setter a half squeeze so it doesn't press too tightly.
All that's left to do now is hang your string of Candyland men on the wall. Don't you just love it? You could even personalize this banner by spelling out the birthday girl or boy's name on the candy men.

Aside from parties, the pennant would be great for teaching colors, too. Great ideas as always!
