Fun DIY Paddle Fans for Summer Parties
This has been an exceptionally hot and humid summer for us, and every time we spend time outdoors, we need extra cooling help. One way I found to make this fun and easy is with DIY paddle fans. I wanted something fun and quirky, so I took inspiration from the coldest thing I could think of — an ice cube!
I used a big, bold image of an ice cube to create a free downloadable paddle fan template that I'm happy to share with you all.
Our paddle fan printable includes front and back images so the fans can be two-sided. For each fan, I printed a front and back onto white cardstock, and cut them out. I also grabbed some simple wooden paddle fan sticks and double-sided tape.
To start, I put some double-sided tape on the end of the paddle fan stick.
Then I stuck it to the back ice cube printout.
I ran more double-sided tape around the edges of the back printout, and again on the other side of the stick.
Then I placed the front printout on top, lining it up as best I could with the back.
I missed, of course, but a quick trim with some scissors got rid of the white edges!
And that's it! It's so quick and easy to make your own paper paddle fans.
A bucket full of these ice cube paddle fans is such a cute addition to any outdoor event, and really offers a fun and unique way for guests to cool themselves.
